‘World class’ player is expected to sign for Arsenal, Edu thinks he can get him for £60m

The biggest transfer rumour going into the January transfer season was Ivan Toney to Arsenal, but nothing materialised during the winter window.

But with the January window being closed, rumours about a summer transfer have already begun to circulate.

The striker is expected to go in the summer, as Thomas Frank has already acknowledged, and Arsenal is unsurprisingly back in the talks.

SportsLens claims that Toney might be had for as little as £60 million this summer—a big decrease from his January £100 million price tag.

The most intriguing detail in SportsLens’ article, though, is their assertion that Arsenal is his anticipated destination.

Toney is reportedly hoping to sign for Arsenal this summer, which is excellent news indeed.

The ‘world class’ striker might be just what Arsenal needs to advance.

He is the predatory player in the penalty area that the Gunners have sorely been lacking. In addition to being able to intimidate centre backs and know exactly where the back of the net is, he is also an excellent playmaker.

Although Edu has done a fantastic job assembling this Arsenal team in recent years, it would be the cherry on top if he could get Toney this summer for a mere £60 million.

Naturally, we discuss how signing Toney would help Arsenal advance, but given their recent victory over Liverpool, there’s a good chance Toney will join the team this summer as Premier League champions—or perhaps, with the right circumstances, as Champions of Europe.

Arsenal is a formidable team now, but if they can add Toney to their already potent offensive group, they will be strong candidates for the top spot the following campaign.

As summer approaches, this is undoubtedly a situation to watch.
